With just a week to go before the Spring-Summer 2016 shows, the CFDA launched its NYFW campaign, which has begun to pop up around New York City on newsstands, bus shelters, and street banners.
The CFDA created the campaign with Redscout to unify all aspects of New York Fashion Week including central locations, off-site venues and events. The shoot took place on a recent Wednesday in Brooklyn, where a group of fashion creatives met at Amazon’s photo studio in Williamsburg. Model Amilna Estevao from Angola was shot by photographer RobertFimmano, who was joined by Phillip Gutman of Laird + Partners, stylist Stella Greenspan, hair stylist Franco Gobbi, and makeup artist Frankie Boyd. Estevao modeled three looks, including pieces from Rodarte, Thom Browne, Altuzarra, Thakoon, and Vera Wang.
The graphics and palette are a nod to the City, ie. blue and orange, the colors of the New York flag; a typography treatment that resembles a stitch on a garment, and a map overlay that captures the grids of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
Look out for the campaign on the streets of New York throughout September.
